Des Moines Register Poll:

Greenfield 45
Ernst 42

(Largely unchanged from June, when it was Greenfield 46, Ernst 43)

desmoinesregister.com/story/news/pol… Ernst Image is even, 44/44 on favorability.

Greenfield slightly above water, 40/36. But 24% don't know her, lot of room for definition in closing weeks.

Doug Jones is the most vulnerable Senate Democrat, but he’s voting and speaking out as he sees fit. He’s betting his record and his appeal can win out, even in a deep red state Trump won by nearly 30 points

Read my story from Alabama

politi.co/2JgKRrs “Anybody that opposes me, their overriding concern is going to be simply Donald Trump. Whatever he wants, they’re going to say, ‘How high do you want me to jump, sir?’” Jones told me.

“But if they want somebody that’s got their back, then I’m going to be that candidate”

I was very intimidated one day running up to McCain to try to get a quick one-on-one as he went into Senate lunch. He indulged me 1/ He spent a couple minutes answering all my probably very dumb questions. He asked who I wrote for and I told him RCP. Instead of turning and going into lunch, he told me he loved our app, took out his phone and started scrolling through it 2/
