**Thread on the Tosha Khana case, specifically the questionnaire given by the court to IK's lawyers on 26 July 2023**

All 35 questions are attached for reference. The first 19 questions are just asking IK to comment on known facts, so not much to say about these.

Q. 20 is the first relevant one. It says IK didn't declare the gifts he retained in 2018-19.

A: Gifts at Sr. No. 9, 12 and 13 were sold before June 30 2019. Hence, there was no need to declare them. Gift at Sr. No 19. consists of small items that aren't declared by anyone.

PDM and its media assets are trying to create a controversy where there is none. SKMT had invested $3 mn from the endowment fund in shares of CISL back in 2008 which was duly declared in the financial statement of SKMT. Details are below: Below are excerpts from the 2010 financial statement, talking about a reduction in the value of land for the project by $18.256 mn which is what Khawaja Asif was harping on about, without going into details. SKMT did not include any provision for impairment, reasons explained.

Ask PMLN voters why they vote for PMLN and they'll usually cite development projects. Ask them what PMLN's economic vision is or question their export performance and you'll hear absolute silence. Pakistan's crises have never been due to a lack of development projects. This alone is proof that PMLN has NO solutions to Pakistan's actual problems. This cult of PMLN, which goes gaga over "development projects" while totally ignoring the costs and unsustainable nature of most such projects, is now thankfully a small minority.

PDM fell in the trap set by IK by accepting these 35 MNA resignations at random. Now, PTI can easily use this in SC to argue that the Speaker's earlier reasoning for not accepting resignations without individual confirmation was bogus. SC will have to ask the Speaker to either accept all resignations or not accept any at all. These 35 MNAs can easily go to SC and say we don't want our resignations accepted, Speaker never called us. Precedent for this already exists in the Shakoor Shad case.

PDM will now have to accept all resignations or none.

@Junaid_Sahi @AliKhizar @Anas98693 He was legally taken in custody by NAB, as per law. Take it up with NAB. Neither IK made the NAB law nor does the arrest make the deal bad or good, the numbers do. Stop trying to deflect after spewing your ignorance in a thread where you make several misstatements yourself. @Junaid_Sahi @AliKhizar @Anas98693 It doesn't take a lot of IQ to do some basic research and check that the 13.37% slope of Brent in the SKA deal was at a significant premium to the average long terms slope at the time. Fact: SKA locked an expensive deal with no option of price renegotiation for 10 years.

@MiftahIsmail You are so rattled that you can't even get your numbers right. When IK came, the USD was 124.0479 and when he was removed, it was 184.6845. That's an increase of just over 60 PKR per USD in 42 months. You've caused an increase of almost 60 PKR per USD in less than 4 months!!! @MiftahIsmail At the end of FY18, Public Debt was 24.95 tr while at end of March 2022, it was 44.37 tr. That's an increase of 19.4 tr. GDP size in FY18 was 39.19 tr which is now estimated at 66.95 tr at end of FY22. That's an increase of 27.8 tr. In other words, GDP increased more than debt.

@MiftahIsmail Wrong. Interest payments are the single biggest component of the increase in public debt under this govt. What do you think debt servicing is and which govt took all the debt that had to be serviced? Peak intellectual dishonesty, Miftah sb. @MiftahIsmail Let me share the facts.

Fiscal deficit in FY19:
3.444916 tr, of which Interest payments were 2.091126 tr.

Fiscal deficit in FY20:
3.376320 tr, of which Interest payments were 2.619739 tr.

Fiscal deficit in 1HFY21:
1.137925 tr, of which interest payments were 1.475158 tr.

OK so I did some research on the datasets used for Transparency International's Corruption Perception Index 2019.

Here are the data sources used for the report. Note that out of these 13, only 8 rated Pakistan in 2018 and 2019 of which the 2 yellow highlighted ones rated us lower in 2019 compared to 2018 while the other 6 gave us exactly the same ratings. I'm attaching screenshots of the individual scores given by all 8 sources in 2018 and 2019 here:

Another bogus piece by Noorani. He is assuming ITO is the prevalent law but it isn't. Judges DQ'd Nawaz for violation of ROPA, not ITO. When the word asset is not defined in ROPA, Its ordinary meaning must be used. Definition from 1 statute cannot be imported into another.
