This internet on this flight won’t let me be great as I attempt to read this report, BUT let me break a few things down about the difference between Trump’s charges & President Biden’s exoneration regarding the criminality surrounding his handling of classified documents: 🧵

1) let’s say you have two kids that walk into a candy store. Both are allowed to be there as it’s open to the public. One picks up some candy while in the store and it’s allowable, puts some in the cart & some is just in his hand. He walks out when his mom calls him. He puts the cart down because he doesn’t have time to pay but forgets say, the gum in his hand. The clerk comes out and tells him, hey you didn’t pay for that. The kid apologizes and immediately returns the gum.

Now, scenario two… this kid knows that he has taken the gum and gets caught, but now hides the gum in between his butt cheeks in his underpants and tells his friends to erase the tapes showing that he ever had the gum, he stuffed the gum and everything he had in the cart into his pants and when asked says oh no, nothing to see here. When they go to his home and execute a warrant over a year later or so, he’s got even more than they knew. He’d been taking stuff outta that store for years and kept lying about it. Now, in short, and I’ll add more when I can get through all of this uninterrupted, one big distinction that isn’t being highlighted is that President Biden did attend security briefings unlike Trump and he took his own notes while in attendance. (Thank you for attending & being attentive) much of the classified information was in the form of his own notes that he was allowed to take home with him while in office. He was under the mistaken belief that his notes were well… his. Similar to President Reagan and his diaries that he kept.

Why does this matter? Do y’all recall those boxes and pictures of mountains of documents that the other guy had well yeah, so far it looks like that even though President Biden has been a federal office holder since he was 29, Trump somehow amassed more documents in his 4 years in office & I’ve yet to hear that most of it was contemporaneous thoughtful notes, but instead mostly reports produced by others that he didn’t already have stored at home but took out of the White House with him when he was booted.
