#Afghan_Allies President Donald J. Trump’s Proclamation, announced on June 4, 2025, restricting entry from 12 countries, including Afghanistan, is a profound moral failing, a betrayal of America’s commitments, and a policy rooted in xenophobic and discriminatory rhetoric.

This travel ban not only endangers thousands of Afghan allies who risked their lives for the United States but also undermines national security, violates American values, and perpetuates harmful stereotypes. The policy must be condemned and reversed for the following reasons: 1. **Betrayal of Afghan Allies**: The inclusion of Afghanistan in the travel ban is a horrific abandonment of allies who supported U.S. military efforts for two decades. Thousands of Afghans—interpreters, translators, and civilians—worked alongside American troops, often at great personal risk, to combat terrorism and promote democracy.

Many fled Taliban persecution, relying on U.S. promises of protection through programs like the Special Immigrant Visa (SIV). While SIV holders are reportedly exempt, tens of thousands of other Afghans, including those in the SIV application pipeline or seeking asylum, are now blocked from safety.

These individuals face near-certain persecution or death if returned to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, a direct consequence of U.S. withdrawal and the 2020 Doha Agreement, which this administration supported. Denying them entry breaks a sacred promise and stains America’s honor.

The humanitarian aid needs to actually reach the afghan people in order for it to help them.

That’s not happening because the Taliban are robbing afghans of aid meant for them snd have been for some time now. See thread: firstpost.com/world/taliban-…

@pamconstable1 From your @washingtonpost article:
“The Taliban wants to segregate women. So it’s training female doctors.”
“This makes me feel like we have done something useful, that all my years of fighting were worth it,” said a Taliban security guard..
washingtonpost.com/world/2023/01/… Taliban are NOT training women to become doctors:
