1/ There's going to be a 60 Minutes on detransitioners.
They asked me to be a talking head, and I said I'd prefer not to be part of this story. They said, Please?
I said, you ought to talk to Torrey Peters, or at the least someone AFAB (since that's the focus). They said...
2/ ...we'd really like you, JFB. I said, I'm honored, but I think this is a terrible idea for a story. Why focus on this small group of outliers, when you could focus on the struggles, and triumphs, of so many other trans folks?

1. My friend @kathygriffin was put in Twitter jail yesterday after the Washington Examiner complained about her syringe tweet.
The paper feels that a comedian's comment is more dangerous to us than a president who lies to us, daily. And talks about insulin like it's bacon.
2. Himself, however, has never been in Twitter jail, ever. He lies about mail-in voting; he accuses @JoeNBC of murder. But all that happens is he gets a little "corrective" link placed beneath his lies.

Hey, trans peeps here is a short thread on this Day of Visibility-- a day when I know many of you are ailing, not only from isolation, but from the heinous cruelty that Republicans in Idaho have chosen to hurl at us on this day.
Read on for hope.

A Thread, and a question: 1. My wife and I are off to Italy at the end of this month to spend a few days at Cinque Terre. We land in Rome on a Monday morning, and will be there for two days, leaving Wednesday morning. My question to you:
2. How would you spend those two days-- knowing that we'll be weary the first day, won't really be free until the afternoon? We don't want to rush around like crazy people seeing every goddamned thing. More like, one or two things that will stay with us.

Thread: 1. There were a lot of reasons why I began transition, at last, in 1999. But there was one day that made all the difference.
2. I'd already talked to my beloved about gender issues, and she knew that I was struggling, trying to express myself now and again, without going into full-on transition. I didn't want to harm her, or our kids, or the people that I loved.
