Final note on the way out (for now): I was at the Lunar New Year celebration in Monterey Park just hours before, marveling at its scale and buying (probably way too many) skewers. Monterey Park, to me as someone who visits often, is a city and community that really crystallizes, in my opinion, the diversity and vibrancy of Asian Americans.
