Police are evacuating the area around the fountain on Seattle Center. This happened very close to where Bite of Seattle was going on. Just heard an officer says shooter is outstanding, unclear how many people have been shot.

The town of Sumner was in disbelief at the murder of 54-year-old Marietta Dela Cruz. At first, police thought she had surprised a burglar in her home. The truth was much worse.

The motive? Money.

She wanted her mom's inheritance and insurance payout. She recruited 3 friends to help carry out the killing. Police figured it out and all four were convicted and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

NOW: Chase Daniel Jones is appearing in court from his hospital bed. He is charged with killing 4 people when he crashed into a minivan at 112mph last month in Renton. Will update this thread as the hearing progresses.

@komonews His attorney just entered 'not guilty' pleas to the 4 counts of vehicular homicide, 2 counts of vehicular assault and reckless driving. Attorney says Jone's arms and legs are broken and he just had a breathing tube removed.

The @wastatepatrol says just because I-5 protesters weren't arrested on the spot, that doesn't mean they won't be charged.

This is a map of the evacuation zone: Crews have set up dumpsters around the target house. I'm told these will be filled with water to contain the blast once the house is detonated. Police didn't have an estimate on exactly how much damage the explosion is expected to cause.
