Anarcho-communist, occasional parody. Zionism is an antisemitic cult, Geordie, Sport, Music. Scratch a Corbyn-hater, find a Nazi-apologist underneath. He/him

If any more Labour Right racists go digging through my tweets to find me supporting racists, here are my thoughts on racism.

Not all racism is equal. Occasional stupidity from people like David Miller or Chris Williamson is not the same as systemic prejudice against vulnerable.. people by Boris Johnson, Nigel Farage, or Keir Starmer. This is something we on the left instinctively realise. This is why say, Corbyn will support a Palestinian liberationist with horrible views on gay people. That said, Salah's views are no worse than establishment Rabbis'.

In the Book of Deuteronomy (Devarim) towards the end of Moses' life, the Jews were told to "remember what Amalek did to you on the way when you left Egypt" and to "wipe out the memory of Amalek from under the Heaven, do not forget". This command is seemingly based on the... chapter in Exodus (Shemos) when Amalek attacked the Jews in Refidim. Though the Jews won the battle, G-d said "Put this as a rememberance in the book, for I will wipe out the memory of Amalek from under the Heaven" and "G-d's war with Amalek is from generation to generation".

Judaism considers not waiting for the Messiah to be heretical and you might ask why. Obviously if Jews have an opportunity to self-determine or take some sort political control of themselves why shouldn't they?

The answer lies in the nature of Jewishness itself. We recognize we are only a people because of our religion. We believe that our destiny is what G-d wants of us, not the destiny of every other nationality and this is what it means to be a chosen people. Every other "solution" to the "Jewish question" relies on turning the Jews

The Torah (Bible) is a great work of literature and should be treated as such, but was written at a time when scientific concepts were unknown and the authors could not be expected to record historical and physical facts. By the time of the Talmud the Rabbis were familar with the concept of the scientific method, but still largely rejected it in favour of their perceived traditions. To be fair, so did many "enlightened" scholars of the era. In Bechoros after trying to apply method to...

Indeed. Labour should continue doing all it can to entice those coming from National Action, Patriotic Alternative, and Britain First. Perhaps manning the Channel with gunboats will finally prove Labour have laid the antisemitism accusations to bed once and for all. Some of you think I'm being ironic, but I'm not. This is literally the position of the editor of the largest UK Jewish newspaper, the one Labour has bent over backwards to appease. Supporting refugees is the New Antisemitism. Image

I'm with #ItWasAScam because in order to accept the Starmerite narrative on antisemitism you have to believe that antisemitism no longer means "hatred, hostility, or prejudice to Jews for being Jews" but "criticising a particular country or person in a particular way"... a formulation which is going to trap members of Jewish Voice for Labour, an entirely Jewish group, 35 times more than regular Labour members who are overwhelmingly non-Jewish.

It couldn't be more of a scam if it claimed to be a Nigerian prince wanting to give you...

Would love to call on Chareidi Judaism to renounce Zionism as wel, if only they had a twitter handle.

The reality is, even on their own terms of Halacha (Jewish law/custom), Zionism is forbidden.

It ought to go without saying that claiming all Jews should support Israel... or Zionism, is like saying all Jews should support Christianity. Claiming Zionism is an integral part of Judaism, as Chief Rabbi Mirvis has done, is like saying the resurrection of Christ is an integral part of Judaism.

And none of the long list of Rabbis who came out against...

Where does Chareidi racism come from?

Obviously there is the white supremacy aspect, when support for Israel and "conservative values" coincides with anti-black and other prejudices.

But there is a specific anti-Arab/Muslim/Palestinian racism embedded in textual interpretation. In Lech Lecha, in the episode of Hagar and Sarah, the Torah describes Yishmael as Pere Adam. The meaning of this phrase is debated, but it is commonly accepted that it means that Yismael, and by extention his Arab/Muslim decendents, are not fully human.

For the sake of it I'd like to go through this list one by one just to refute some of the smears. This was created by Jeremy-haters to counter the "50 times Jeremy stood with Jews" meme, but has far less credibility. 1) Nothing wrong with eradicating Zionism, I support that myself.
4) Guilt by association again. Unless the "anti-Israel rally" is itself the "problem".
5) Ditto, although Leila Khaled is now a mainstream Palestinian voice.
6) "Linked to the bombing"... Need I say more?

My favourite Talmudic stories:

Nachum Ish GamZu would say whatever happened to him, this is for the best.

One day the Jews of Eretz Yisrael gave him a chest full of treasure to present the Roman Emperor on their behalf.

On the way to Rome he slept in an inn. The innkeeper saw what was in the chest, stole it, and replaced it with earth and pebbles. Nachum took it with him none the wiser.

Nachum presented the chest to the emperor. The emperor opened it and to Nachum's horror, it was full of earth and pebbles!

Am I a Chareidi?

Chareidim claim to follow the Rabbis. Am I part of an ideology which thinks these Rabbis were antisemites?

I've loved Jeremy Corbyn for some time, because he is a genuinely decent person who is distured by injustice and has good radical politics. But permit me to ask this: Hasn't the time arrived that Corbynism is hampering the left rather than mobilizing it? Even denied the whip by a vindictive Starmer, he continues to lick the boot which kicks him. The SCG has been totally emasculated, the "left" NEC members invisible, and whatever the Peace and Justice Movement is doing is a mystery.
