🧵The 10 main lessons the IDF has learned from their investigation into the 10/7 massacre and prior
Change in the concept of security—no enemy must be allowed to build a force on our border while civilians live next to it—and rely on deterrence and warning. Hams and Hezbollah must not return to what they were.

🧵 The IDF released today their investigation into the 10/7 conduct of the IDF, and prior to 10/7, here are the key takeaways from it.
The IDF did not consider the scenario of a broad surprise attack. It was perceived as unlikely, and not even a scenario close to it. This is a key issue that the IDF was not prepared for.

🧵THREAD The left in Israel, with help from the lefty media, chanted for a year, "Bring them home AT ALL COST." Besides the release of hundreds of terrorists, here is what Hams is doing in Gaza during the ceasefire; this is what AT ALL COST means:
Many thousands of its operatives returned from the southwest of the Gaza Strip to the north following the withdrawal from the Netzarim corridor, among the half a million Gazans who did the same.

🧵 A THREAD: Israel's plan for the next phase in Gaza, as outlined by Tamir Morag Ch. 14 News, involves a demand for the mass deportation of Hams operatives from the Gaza Strip, not just the organization's leaders. This demand could be a condition for implementing phase two of the hostage deal and bringing an end to the war.
In recent weeks, we have reported on Israel’s three conditions for ending the conflict: 1. The release of all hostages, both living and deceased. 2. The dismantling of Hams's military wing and disarmament of the Gaza Strip. 3. The exile of Hams leaders from the Gaza Strip (termed "Safe Exit").

🧵🔴Analysis: What Happened This Week with the Hostage Deal? Based on everything I'm hearing today from Israel (unofficially), Arab media, and Hams, we can better understand the events of this week.
Hams manufactured a crisis over the mobile homes and bulldozers, likely trying to assert their influence and seeking more concessions from Israel, possibly under the encouragement of Qatar. However, President Trump undermined their attempt by issuing an ultimatum.

🧵🔴 MUST READ: Horrifying testimonies from the captivity of Or Eli and Ohad, who returned yesterday - testimonies that must be heard about the hell of captivity in Gaza
The three were deliberately starved, going for long days without any food at all. Every few days, they were given rotten pita bread, which they were forced to share with other hostages who were with them. Long days passed without being given water. They did not drink, and one of the hostages collapsed in captivity - a traumatic event that the hostages who were with him thought he was dead.

🔴🧵ANALYSIS: Is Trump's Gaza plan real or not? After all the excitement from yesterday's meeting between Trump and Bibi, let's try to understand what is behind it. Is it real, or is Trump just shaking things up?
IMHO, I have significant doubts that the U.S. will take over Gaza; I think Trump put it out there because this is what he knows how to do best—negotiate, and this time, he negotiates using Middle Eastern language.

🚨🧵Israeli Ch. 13 News: The IDF found in Gaza the operation command order given to Hams operatives TWO WEEKS BEFORE 10/7; the brain behind the operation was Mohammed Deif (who was eliminated by the IDF in July 2024). Here are the details:
The date was chosen as 10/7/23; the order was given on 9/23/23 to 25 senior members of Hams, the brigade commanders, and battalion commanders. The top leadership already knew and was part of the planning.

🔴🧵PHASE 2 OF THE HOSTAGE DEAL NEW INFO: An Israeli official involved in the process is hinting that Israel intends to return to fighting in Gaza when the agreement to release the hostages is exhausted. "We are committed to all the goals of the war.
Thanks to our heroic soldiers, we destroyed about 85% of Hams's military capabilities in Gaza and rescued about 2/3 of the hostages. We are committed to returning everyone and destroying all of Hams' capabilities in Gaza. No less," says the senior Israeli official.

🧵I came across today the story of this horrifying photo. My friend @NoaMagid posted the events leading to this photo in Hebrew, and I want to share with everyone (in case you missed it) one of the horrors of 10/7. Never forget, never forgive.
Dozens of terrorists arrived at Kibbutz Hulit, going from house to house and slaughtering people. Adi (the mom of the babies pictured), who heard gunshots, called Anani (the dad), who was outside Hulit, and asked him to remind her how to operate the M16 rifle she had taken out of the safe. After instructing her, she went into the bomb shelter with the children, and since then, they have been in contact. At that time, a terrorist broke into their house, and Anani killed him with a rifle. After him, other terrorists entered, and she protected her children with her body.

🧵ALMOST 500 DAYS INTO THE GAZA WAR – DOES HAMS REGRET IT? As the hostage/ceasefire deal in Gaza plays out, there have been many voices commenting on Hams’ apparent “resurrection”. How accurate is this assessment and what does the group really think? Ehud Ya’ari from Channel 12 lays it all out in his commentary this morning 👇
Hams’ supposed recovery is the subject of endless discourse, but one can already detect their regret for the war, which they initiated on 10/7. The most senior surviving military commander in the Gaza Strip - the commander of the Gaza Brigade, Izz ad-Din al-Haddad, lays out a spectacular lie to prove it.

🧵RELEASE OF ISRAELI HOSTAGES – HOW WILL IT WORK? @Doron_Kadosh of IDF Radio published the details on how the release of the Israeli hostages will work from start to finish. Here’s how it’s supposed to happen over the next 42 days 👇
The process starts when the list of hostages to be released are transferred from Hamas to the PM of Qatar about 24 hours before the release. The list is approved by the negotiation team, and the recommendation is forwarded to PM Netanyahu for approval.

🧵EXCERPTS FROM WHAT BIBI TOLD THE CABINET: Israeli journalists have started to release excerpts from what PM Netanyahu told the Cabinet and the Knesset during the hours of debate last night before they voted to approve the hostage deal. Here are the takeaways 👇
Bibi told the Cabinet that Hamas demanded, as a condition for its entry into the framework for further release, that Israel commit in advance to ending the war and evacuating Gaza – but he did not agree to this. This was the main obstacle to the deal, and he was not willing to compromise on it.

🧵🔴Under current conditions, this is the best deal you could get. Analysis from Ron Ben Yeshai
On the one hand, the deal to release the hostages, which is expected to be signed soon, will allow the release of most of the living hostages and will preserve Israel's ability to exert military and humanitarian pressure on Hamas to release all the hostages in the second phase. On the other hand, the price of releasing thousands of Palestinian terrorists could endanger Israeli citizens. Still, the deal's advantages, including the political ones vis-à-vis Trump, outweigh its disadvantages.
The deal to release the hostages, which will probably be closed today (Tuesday) or in the coming days, is the best that could have been achieved under the current conditions. Its main drawback is that it was not completed earlier, back in the summer of 2024, but we will leave the discussion of this question to historians. At the moment, it seems that this is a deal whose advantages, from the Israeli point of view, far outweigh its disadvantages. First, it allows for the return of most of the kidnapped men and women who are still alive – those who are called "humanitarian cases" and are the weakest, for whom every day in Hams' hands is critical.

🧵HOSTAGE DEAL DETAILS: Israeli political sources tell IDF Radio (@Doron_Kadosh) that "progress has been made in all components of the agreement formula, and optimal conditions have been created for a deal that until now could not be reached." Here are all of the details 👇
Phase A: Hamas will release 33 Israeli hostages and they have not yet told Israel how many of those 33 are alive. These include women (civilians and soldiers), children, adults over the age of 50, the wounded and the sick.

🧵🔴How can Israel defeat Hams at this point?
In the 1980s, senior figures in the Muslim Brotherhood movement used the term "purification precedes liberation." Hams, which is the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, acted by this principle when it threw Fatah activists off rooftops during the military coup in the Gaza Strip in 2007.
The same principle of the Muslim Brotherhood from the 1980s could also work in the Gaza Strip. Israel should work to segment the Gaza Strip - divide it into many small, separate territorial areas with clear geographical demarcations and then begin to purge these territorial cells of terrorists - to turn them into sterile areas free of weapons and terrorists.

🧵A very interesting Op-Ed from the WSJ by one of my favorite journalists in Israel, Amit Segal (The link to the Op-Ed is at the end of the thread): "How can hell be unleashed on hell? a fascinating
President-elect Trump delivered an unequivocal message to Hamas in a Dec. 2 Truth Social post: “If the hostages are not released before January 20, 2025, the date that I proudly assume Office as President of the United States, there will be ALL HELL TO PAY in the Middle East, and for those in charge who perpetrated these atrocities against Humanity. Those responsible will be hit harder than anybody has been hit in the long and storied History of the United States of America.”
With only a week and a half until Mr. Trump’s inauguration, the question arises: How can hell be unleashed on hell?
I recently visited Jabalia, north of Gaza City, which, before the current war, was one of the Middle East’s most densely populated areas and a source of great pride for Hamas. Today, Jabalia is in ruin. Most residents heeded the Israeli military’s repeated orders to evacuate. Packs of starving dogs roam the desolate streets.
The Israel Defense Forces unleashed hell on Gaza. Most of the strip has been decimated by Israeli bombs. But the population still isn’t rising against Hamas, the regime that brought this catastrophe upon them. What good would another barrage of explosives do? There’s no benefit to turning tens of thousands more Gazans into refugees. Gaza’s refugee population is already bloated, as refugee status extends not only to those who lost their homes in Israel’s 1948 War of Independence but also to their descendants.

🧵Who is behind the organization responsible for attempts to arrest IDF soldiers abroad?
Over the weekend, we read that an IDF soldier was forced to flee Brazil for fear of being arrested following a legal action taken by the "Hand Rajab Foundation," which was established last September in Brussels (Belgium) in the name of a Palestinian girl who was allegedly killed in Gaza following an Israeli operation.
The foundation collects information openly on social media and uses it to try to prosecute Israeli soldiers while they are abroad. So far, the foundation has filed lawsuits against 28 IDF soldiers in 8 different countries. The foundation discloses information about IDF soldiers visiting abroad to put them in danger of arrest or being killed.
