Google is “hoping to limit revenue for climate change deniers and stop the spread of misinformation on its platforms.” A couple of thoughts.
apnews.com/article/climat… On the tech front, Google is announcing these moves after some bad press regarding Chrome’s privacy measures. In fact, it has to do with the data they’re selling advertisers. Other tech companies are pushing to limit that information, and Google is just embracing unsafe measures.

Not about worthiness. It's about need. Gifted and accelerated kids need to be pushed and challenged in ways you simply can't do in a general class setting when the teacher has to devote a lot of time remediating and bringing lower-performing kids up to the required standards. Gifted/Accelerated kids who are not challenged will stagnate, struggle, and at times even become behavior problems when they aren't engaged. Education should be about pushing everyone to hit that next level, whatever it is for them, and getting rid of gifted education hurts that.

Erick is getting pushback on this from people who seem to willingly forget that the porn industry does very, very little to combat the human trafficking that has propped it up for so long. I’m not against porn per se, but we have to recognize that its industry is vile. I think that there is an argument to be made on gatekeeping abs how it is naturally an activity of exclusion. Currently, conservatism has a chance to support away from progressivism. But I also think that a shared and consistent set of standards is necessary for any ideology.

Honestly, the pearl-clutching over the 1/6 Commission is done by people who are so invested in the inner beltway that they can’t understand how little voters care. It’s a fucking economic crisis right now, and Congress is arguing over something everyone else has moved on from. Just a reminder: It wasn’t an insurrection. There was no order or structure to it. There was no plan. It was chaos. A brief moment of anarchy committed by idiots who don’t understand how elections work. There was never any actual danger to the Republic.
