I see an article in the Telegraph entitled, "Brexit not to blame for UK trade dip, study suggests." And wonder who carried out the study..........1/thread So I read the article

Was it carried out by a well respected organisation such as HM Treasury, OECD, CBI, Oxford Economics or the LSE?

@BBCRadio4 @BBCSounds How to rewrite a narrative. As I go through the newsfeeds of spring 2020 for my blog 'The Covid Chronicle' I'm finding that the Government was actively seeding high hopes ......... 1/

Thread @BBCRadio4 @BBCSounds In England on April 26th 2020 there was no clear strategy. Without a vaccine the only possible way out of lockdown was test, trace & isolate, and it turned out the NHS had been using a flawed Covid-19 test, missing 25% of positives........2/

1/16 It turns out that the first catastrophic error that Johnson made when it came to dealing with the pandemic actually took place within days of his moving in to Number 10, in July 2019. It's a story worth remembering - of a government not even intending to be prepared. 2/16 The NSRA, National Security Risk Assessment was a 600-page confidential report produced for the eyes of Number Ten during 2019. It did, however, get leaked to the Guardian newspaper.

1/111 Thread: I wanted to give them a chance. Surely every government around the world is facing the toughest of challenges & we were no different, but the more I find out about how our Government has dealt with COVID-19 the more I find their ineptitude to be truly staggering. 2/11 And our stark measure of competence, not unlike the competence of a school being indicated by its exam results, is the progress of a horrendous epidemic. Numbers from experts our central players have spent almost four years deriding.

1/10 This is for any of you who aren't as nerdy about weather as I am and who come across climate change deniers. Don't believe anyone who tells you that this is evidence that the climate isn't getting warmer because of a cold winter.

1/9 I am sending a complaint to Kathryn Stone who is Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, House of Commons. I include it here as a thread solely because there simply aren't the characters available in a tweet. I am hoping that other people on this platform RT & do likewise 2/9 There is no twitter link but the email addresses are:

The Commissioner:

standardscommissioner@parliament.uk
Head of Complaints: harrisongj@parliament.uk
The Speaker: john.bercow.mp@parliament,uk

I also copied it to my local MP

I was intrigued by the website below. I must admit I found its tone a bit overexcitable at times but it gave some really interesting insights into the Brexit Party.

Thread .......1/ So I followed it through, selecting only those who were elected to become Brexit Party MEPs. I double-checked the information with a number of other sources to come up with the table below with the caveat not everything is known about each MEP at this point in time ....2/

I'm pretty overwhelmed by all the fairytales I'm being told and metaphors I must grasp, not least about cakes and cherries, by brexiters and my government that I thought I might tell a fairytale of my own. So here goes - please follow my thread..... Once upon a time a patient went to her doctor about a disease she was suffering. “There are two choices of treatment,” the doctor told her and explained a little about each one. He thought that lack of detail and using layman's terms would help her to understand.
