You’re right, Conserva-nerds. That show from 1966 about how to face the challenges of the future, a white guy from Iowa must co-operate with a Russian, a black woman, a Japanese guy, and the mixed race child of a human and a space alien was never intended to be political.
And the ship, named after an active duty Navy vessel with a half-female crew at a time when women didn’t serve aboard ship, that was just apolitical speculative world building!
