NEW: The NY Assembly Judiciary Committee has released its report on former Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Its conclusions: "We conclude that there is overwhelming evidence that the former Governor engaged in sexual harassment," the Assembly's Cuomo report reads.

NEW: Andrew Cuomo’s COVID book deal was worth $5.12 million, per his office. More: Cuomo’s net book income for 2020 was $1.54 million, per his tax returns.

Of that, Cuomo contributed $500,000 to the United Way and the remaining $1 million to a trust for his daughters, per his office.

NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo will make his tax returns available to the media at 2:30 p.m. They should give us an idea how much he made on his COVID-19 book last year.

A few pre-game notes in the following tweets... 1) Per NYS tradition, statewide electeds make their tax returns available to the media in hard copy. They aren't posted online for the whole public to see.

Why? I don't know. But that's why you'll see reporters reporting details but you won't be able to see the 1040 yourself.

After a morning/early afternoon of utter confusion, Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office makes clear:

New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Connecticut will NOT be added to New York's quarantine list, even though their COVID-19 numbers qualified.

democratandchronicle.com/story/news/pol… Cuomo himself said this earlier: "We are now in a situation where 43 states are on our travel advisory."

Also: "We now have 43 states on our quarantine list."

But when his office released the list, there were only 40 states on it. NJ, CT and PA had been exempted.

NY is home to some of the country's tightest COVID-19 restrictions.

So how is SNL going to have a live audience this Saturday? And what does that mean for crowds at live sporting events?

Thread!

democratandchronicle.com/story/news/202… First, some background.

In NY, almost all gatherings are limited to no more than 50 people. It's laid out in Executive Order 202.45, which Gov. Andrew Cuomo issued June 15.

I got tested for COVID at Walgreens on Holland Ave today and got my results in 54 minutes. I had to shove the giant Q tip into my nostril myself, though, which was somehow worse than when someone else does it?

The whole scene is kinda surreal.

There are protesters outside with a DJ playing 90s/2000s hip hop and R&B. You can hear it loud and clear in the courtroom. It’s providing a unique soundtrack to Dreyer’s technical, legalese-heavy closing argument. Now playing: “A Change is Gonna Come,” by Sam Cooke. One of the greatest songs of all time, for my money.

Andrew Cuomo is suggesting AG Letitia James did not have the video of #DanielPrude's death until last week, which is just ... wrong.

Here's our timeline. AG's office took control of the investigation in mid-April and has had the video for months. democratandchronicle.com/story/news/202… AG's office showed the video to an attorney for #DanielPrude's family on June 12, FWIW. Cuomo's assertion that AG's office didn't have the video until last week is very, very wrong.

Cuomo, asked about the death of #DanielPrude, says he referred the matter to the AG for investigation in July.

"That is ongoing. She’s been doing the investigation since July, but people should know that it is under investigation and it has been for months by the AG." More on #DanielPrude here: democratandchronicle.com/story/news/202…

The latest list of states on the NY/NJ/CT quarantine list is due out at any minute.

By my count, it's looking like four states will be removed:

- Arizona
- Delaware
- Maryland
- Montana

Don't think any states will be added, though Rhode Island is kind of a coin flip. Arizona is particularly significant. The day NY/NJ/CT issued the quarantine order in late June, Arizona was the hardest-hit state in the country. It was up around 40 avg daily COVID-19 cases per 100K residents.

Now, it's below 10 per 100K.

Cuomo’s speech is pretty clearly pre-taped. And he is flying — clearly trying to fit in as much as he can into his limited slot. It’s pretty jarring. Cuomo’s cadence is way, way faster than normal, though it’s probably not noticeable unless you tuned in to a bunch of his briefings.

Last week, I wrote every sitting president since Taft in 1910 had thrown out a first pitch at a MLB game except Trump.

@RickCanale called me out. Jimmy Carter never did, he said.

Was he right? The answer was surprisingly hard to figure out!

(Thread)

democratandchronicle.com/story/news/pol… Dozens of big-time (WaPo, CNN, ESPN, Baseball Almanac) and crowd-sourced (Wiki, Baseball Reference) outlets have reported Carter threw a first pitch at Game 7 of the 1979 World Series, which was played in Baltimore. ImageImageImageImage

Q: Did I fall into a research wormhole and write 1,600 words about the history of New York governors throwing ceremonial first pitches and how it's wild Andrew Cuomo never has?

A: You bet I did.

democratandchronicle.com/story/news/pol… I learned some stuff I didn't know before, such as ...

FDR was still NY governor when he threw the first pitch before Game 3 of the 1932 World Series, AKA the day Babe Ruth "called his shot" at Chicago's Wrigley Field.

Cuomo's flying JetBlue to Georgia right now.
It appears JetBlue may have added a flight to accommodate.

The only JFK-Savannah flight on JetBlue's usual Monday schedule left at 7:39 a.m.

Background: democratandchronicle.com/story/news/pol… Cuomo's flight appears on FlightAware.com. (See left.)

It doesn't appear on JetBlue's website if you plug in JFK and Savannah. (See right.) It does if you plug in the flight number taken from FlightAware. ImageImage
