I browsed CNKI for articles about pangolins (I remembered that they are supposed to close down to access people outside CN).
"SARS-CoV-2-related Pangolin Virus Infection Route and Genomic Stability Studies"
Where they tested GX_P2V on hamsters.
cnki.net/KCMS/detail/de…
This is interesting:
"Adaptive variation of GX_P2V in golden hamster could occur rapidly.A total of eight mutations could be detected after two passages. These mutations became dominant mutations in the third generation and remained until the ninth in vivo passages ..

A 🧵about pangolins in Wuhan 1. Pangolins were seen in Wuhan before the outbreak. 2. An article mentioned that pangolins were sold in or near the Baishazhou district. 3. An account by a resident in Wuhan relates a story of a pangolin in the HSM.
1. In this article from 2018, the journalist describes a pangolin found on the street (5 km from the HSM) with "straw ropes" around its feet. It appears to have been a smuggled pangolin that either escaped or fell out of a truck.

On Zoos/animal parks and the origin of Omicron.
According to @K_G_Andersen 1 of the 2 most likely hypotheses on the origin of Omicron is "reverse zoonosis, followed by a new zoonosis (human>animal>human)"
It seems that wildlife in general don't get infected easily. When Danish mink farms experienced large outbreaks of covid
- “wildlife sampled in the vicinity of the infected farms did not test positive"
