Anonymous college AD quotes are always amusing. “This isn’t why most of us got into the industry. There was something special and pure about it, even as we talked out of both sides of our mouth, but now what?” Pure? What did college sports leaders think the end game would look like? Did they think they could run pro sports on campuses forever and not create massive financial gaps between schools causing realignment upheaval and players wanting a cut?

The scariest part of the shooting at Nationals Park was the unknown. What do you do in the fog of uncertainty? People raced toward us in our seats on the 3B line shouting “Shooter!” Hiding under our seats, my 12-year-old son said, “I don’t want to die. I’m too young to die.” I had immediately heard the sound of 3 shots. I thought it might be fireworks. Or maybe the PA system celebrating a strikeout that just happened. Then chaos broke out. My son regretted that he got in a fight with his brother before leaving.

Pac-12 football players’ demands include:

— Player-approved health standards enforced by 3rd party

— 50% of revenue distributed evenly to athletes

— Medical insurance for 6 years after college

— End lavish facility costs and use endowment funds to protect all sports
