Poker is a game of complexity, but at its core, it all starts with one thing: basic math.

A thread: 👇🧵 1/ The foundation of poker strategy is built on understanding hand combinations.

🚨 10 Mandatory Cash Game Tips That Will Transform Your Game! 🚨

Want to win more $$$ at the tables? Avoid costly mistakes? Play like a pro?

Here’s a crash course on the FUNDAMENTALS you must master to dominate cash games! 🧵👇 1️⃣ Stop Open Limping – It’s Burning Money 🔥

If you open limp in cash games—especially in a rake-heavy environment—you are setting money on fire.

An open limp means you are the first to voluntarily put money in the pot by just calling the big blind. This is a huge mistake because:

You allow multiple players to see a cheap flop, giving them great odds to outdraw you.

You let the big blind in for free, meaning they can make random strong hands that would have folded vs. a raise.

You invite aggressive players to attack your limp, putting you in tough spots.

The more multi-way pots you play, the more rake you pay — Rake is the silent killer in cash games!

Instead, always raise when you are first in—a standard 3-4 big blind raise is best. I don't care if the standard raise in your games is to something like 7BBs. Do not model your strategy after the strategy of bad players.

So many poker players run deep in tournaments but fall short of the final table...

They let their stack dwindle and never have a significant stack to win. 📉

Are you one of those players?! 👀

Here's how to build a BIG STACK and crush poker tournaments!! 🧵👇 If you never have a huge stack in the middle stages of a poker tournament, then you will need an amazingly hot run of cards to actually win or cash for a significant amount.

This will come around almost NEVER.

I turned $50 into $350,000 at 18 years old by putting in a TON of volume playing poker in a game I had a small edge in.

Everyone has become obsessed with GTO solvers, & solutions have never been more accessible. Yet, I believe we have entered the FAKE SOLVER ERA of poker!📉 People have lost the fundamentals & are trying to replicate terrible outputs!⬇️

How to get out of the fake solver mindset: Image The above simulation is terrible because there are way TOO many sizes used & too high of an exploitability (causing tons of mixed strategies). Using a solver in that manner isn’t helpful!

Step 1: Use sizes and strategies that you want to execute in game.

When your opponent bets on the river, do you know when you should call with your bluff catcher?

Ask yourself these 5 questions when facing a bet and don't know whether to call. 👇 Am I beating any value hands?

If you are beating value hands, you do not have a bluff-catcher.

You should be more inclined to call the more value you are beating.

Since lots of you will be forced to work from home for at least the next few weeks and I have been REALLY productive working from home over the last 10 years, here are some tips! 📈📈📈1/12 1. Dedicate a space in your home to be your “work” space. Many view their entire home as their “relaxation” space. It doesn’t have to be huge. Ideally, it is not too hectic and can be closed off. A corner in your bedroom can work great. I use a large closet. Fancy! 2/12
