I had a few things to say about this theologically earlier. But I can't not come back to it again, because this video raises some serious pastoral concerns as well.
"It's been misunderstood a lot. I would write it differently only because of how it's heard. ... Ridiculous to think [that] ... Being disliked isn't that bad."
The reader is blamed, belittled and made to feel ridiculous (despite understanding what was explicitly written).

"We're trying to figure out how does it work? And this is something the church has wrestled with for 2000 years." Yes, the church has — but in that wrestling some answers have been ruled very clearly out of bounds.
This is one of the major reasons why Pentecostals/Charismatics need to give a lot more attention to Systematic Theology.

Book 8. I’ve read a lot of Athanasius, but this is the first time I’ve read his most popular book. And (as I’ve basically been live tweeting it tonight) I think there are a few helpful lessons in here particularly for Pentecostals & Charismatics, about the gifts of the Spirit.
Book 9. Sometimes fun, sometimes inspiring, sometimes very insightful. This old classic is a good intro to the story of the beginnings of (parts of) British Pentecostalism.

Just finished reading my first book of 2021, so thought I’d try some one tweet reviews.
Book 1. Very accessible and well organised. Some parts are fantastic (but unfortunately not the section on the Supper). Much better alternative to Grudem for a biblical intro to doctrine. Would be great for Bible study leaders, youth groups, etc. Not in-depth enough for seminary.
