Right, some positivity! Eagles' Defense All22 thread vs. Lions. 1) Sometimes, it's better to be lucky than good! I think DeJean misplays this (impossible to know), and he should pass the crossing route off to Baun, which results in a wide-open receiver. However, he ends up with the INT after Jordan Davis gets a hand on the football.
I love it when you can see the impact of coaching on the field. It's evident that JD and Carter are working on batting balls down, and it's working!
2) The Lions have an excellent run game, and the Eagles did a great job against it for the majority of the game. Here's Zack Baun spotting the double team and instantly bursting through the gap and making the open field tackle.

Eagles Defense All22 vs. Giants. 1) I thought the Eagles route distribution was outstanding all game. Just like last week, there was way more split-safety coverages and way less cover 3 (thank god). Nakobe Dean had his best game in coverage by a mile. I thought this was an awesome play by Darius Slay on Nabers. Look at how smooth Slay is covering this in route. Both the outside corners were fantastic.
2) I really like this from Cooper DeJean. Having athletic players in your secondary is so so important in the modern NFL. The Giants catch the Eagles out and the RB should pick up the first. DeJean shows real hustle though to pass off his man and instantly get to the flat to push the RB out. The Giants failed on 3rd down and ended up punting. Every defense needs plays like this.
