Minus personnel on OL/at WR, OC Liam Coen says offense is in problem-solving mode; figuring out "identity". Having Ben Skowronek and Brandon Powell able to contribute in a variety of areas is a benefit in that regard. On Powell, Coen says, "Just a football player. The Rams allowed a four-man rush to dictate their W1 loss in a major way. 49ers like to play them the same way (the Bills ran a lot of 49ers “stuff” against them in fact). In 2021 the 49ers blitzed 21% of the time overall but just 13.2% of the time in three matchups vs. Rams. Right now, 49ers have a 43% pressure rate on non-blitzing dropbacks. Big game for an OL playing well last two weeks; big game for Ben Skowronek and probably a game to bring Malcolm Brown up to pass pro.
