Many recent commentaries on free speech are missing an element: Power
Collective action or voices may ask for better of people who have the most power over policies & funding
When there are many policies & funding choices on which we may do better, this is important
The collective action I’ve seen on public health & equity has been powerful, important, & free of violence
In contrast to approaches taken by some anti-public health actors, such as showing up at the homes of decision makers or filling public websites with racist comments
