Despite the initial claims of a scuffle between 🇭🇷 fans at the Viennese Ernst Happel stadium starting over nationalist chants, a new video that had emerged paints a different picture. Now it seems things kicked off bcs of anti-CFF chants by the ultras.
Video shows a group of ultras trying to lead a 'CFF, fa**ots, you've ruined football' chant, but they're met with some resistance from the 25k strong 'regular' fan-base. The whole thing eventually got drowned off by a police intervention, and a few arrests were made.

Not-so-fun-fact: yesterday's #WorldCupDraw gave Milan Borjan, Canada's GK, an opportunity to play against Croatia, country he was born in. Yet also the country he publicly denounces, in quite a nationalistic manner.
Here's why:
Borjan was born in Knin in 1987, which means he was born in Yugoslavia. Four years later the country ended up in flames, and Knin - predominantly ethnically Serbian before the war - was especially heavily affected, as a lot of mixed communities are during such conflicts.
