The arrest was for supposedly supporting “proscribed organisations.” Haim is the son of Holocaust survivors: his father survived Aucshwitz and Gusen - a subcamp of Mathausen - and his mother survived Auschwitz & Bergen-Belsen 1/6 In his late 70s Haim is suffering from serious health conditions. He was born in displaced persons camp near Rome a year after the liberation of his parents. This did not deter the police from arresting him & keeping him in harsh conditions in a dirty detention cell overnight 2/6
