What I think needs more care, though, is the assumption that the NT must explicitly rename the Church “Israel” in order for covenant fulfillment or expansion to occur… @Mark_Wilson_25 Paul’s olive tree imagery in Romans 11 suggests one covenant root with branches grafted in and broken off, not two parallel covenant peoples.
