Grateful our very own @Sammy1Perez gave up part of his holiday to testify for SB888, which allows district judges to decide whether to impose consecutive or concurrent mandatory minimum sentences. Thank you for sharing your story about the importance of proportional punishment. Current requirements to stack penalties for 200+ mandatory minimum sentences provide undue leverage to plea bargains. SB888 would eliminate this concern and affirm the constitutional right to fair trial that protects every Virginian from government overreach. #VAleg
