U.S. defense spending may now exceed that of the next 13 nations combined. To protect us from – Russia? No, tRump is Putin’s best friend, and he’s withdrawing troops from Europe. China? Only if they are foolish enough to attack Taiwan.

1/16 No, the main purpose of the Pentagon is to feed the military-industrial complex, which contribute to political campaigns. At a time of massive budget deficits, massive unemployment (and increased unemployment benefits expiring) and a pandemic which remains unaddressed.

Congress is about to pass Defense bill which includes $3.8B in Israeli military aid, which is used in part to subjugate and colonize Palestine.

1/17 For Resisters who are afraid to support Palestinian rights for fear of appearing anti-Semitic, almost half the Jews in Congress are in favor of Palestinian rights, and against Israeli settlements & annexation in Palestine. So are the vast majority of American Jews.

House passes sweeping coronavirus response package politi.co/2vW672y via @politico The House passed a bipartisan legislative package negotiated by Mnuchin and Pelosi, & agreed to by tRump, including paid emergency leave and free testing for COVID-19. It’s hard to imagine anyone voting against it. But 40 Republicans did. Let’s list them:

Three More NRA Director Resignations (or Purges)

Eight directors of the National Rifle Association resigned in protest during 2019. Stung by this negative publicity, the NRA has found a way to quietly remove more directors who protest the organization’s corruption & waste - simply not nominate them for reelection when their terms are up, without explanation. One suspects they imagine no one will notice.

Obviously, we should seek opportunities in individual #2020House districts in which there is not incumbent, or in which the incumbent is personally vulnerable. But I suggest that we look at the idea of swing districts (and swing states) differently. Looking at 41 seats we gained in 2018, a few may have been because of individual vulnerability.

Americans sharply divided over whether to impeach and remove Trump from office, Post-ABC poll finds washingtonpost.com/politics/ameri… 18% of GOP support it. And that is higher than other polls. The summary average of polls, below, lists 8%, 10% and 11% for recent polls. Unless that changes, the House Red district and Senate Red state GOP cannot possibly support it. Only the few GOP Senators in swing states –

On Oct 25 I published a listing of all the GOP SCIF invaders of which I knew. The next morning, I published a comprehensive listing, the only one I believes that exists. Someone at Twitter headquarters has been very busy censoring that list. Day by day, they purge EVERYTHING I tweeted that day. A rather blunt response. What rules did it break? And why has the listing not appeared in the MSM? That would solve my problem.

Say you’ve been shot. (Sorry about that!). You are rushed to the hospital, hoping to be partially repaired. But, it turns out, your doctor may be partially responsible. He may be contributing to the PAC who bribes politicians not to protect you. Shocking, no? We don’t know who is contributing to the NRA four tax-deductible foundations (or how they could possibly be tax-deductible). That’s where the Big Money (or at least the smart money) goes. But we do know who (besides Russia) is giving to the NRA PAC used for political bribery.

@ajschanfield If you are going to feed me the punchlines, we ought to take the act on the road. Though that would make me the ‘straight man’, wouldn't it? I’m definitely not straight. @ajschanfield Thanks, yes, I'm planning a book, but not a comedy. And my numerous medical misfortunates will be only one minor chapter. The central point would be to change the system. You wouldn't believe:

The NRA’s expansive misinterpretation of the Second Amendment is “(o)ne of the greatest pieces of fraud, I repeat the word fraud, on the American public by special-interest groups that I have ever seen in my lifetime.”
Retired Chief Justice Warren Burger, 1991 For 240 years, the Supreme Court correctly interpreted the 2nd Amendment as the right of state governments to have militias, controlled by those govts, & appointing their officers. The Federal government could not prohibit them. We have such organizations – the National Guard.

Our 2018 House gains were almost all in traditionally GOP suburban districts. 39 of them. They will be the main GOP targets for 2020. Yet, unlike the House “leadership”, and many in safe districts, 19 have come out in favor of Impeachment. They need and deserve our support:

#ImpeachTrumpNow Mueller tax returns Russia etc. will be useful in court for sentencing. But are totally unnecessary to impeach. The vague Impeachment Clause is no excuse. Cowardly Democrats are simply afraid of the polls because the majority don’t support impeachment. “The public isn’t there on impeachment.” Nancy Pelosi

@GrabienMedia @DelPercioS Great concept, in theory, to #BoycottNRADirectorBusinesses. But, in general, the NRA Board members are not in those kinds of positions that would be easy to boycott– public companies, retail shops @GrabienMedia @DelPercioS (except gun manufacturers, gun ranges, which we wouldn’t do business with anyway.) (They are on the boards of the (illegally) interconnected 4 NRA Foundations and PAC.)

A danger in creating a boycott list is that it is ‘buy list’ for gun nuts.

How about a good candidate to run against @RepThomasMassie of KY04? 1 of only 3 to vote against the Stolen Valor Act, the only person in Congress to support guns undetectable to TSA scanners, doesn’t believe in climate change, wants to abolish the Ed Dept & the EPA, the only Rep to vote against sanctions on N Korea & Iran, chair of #2A Caucus. It’s a rural/suburban district, so how about a primary challenge?
