Today morning, I watched #DhurandharTheRevenge in the theatre, and what an intense, adrenaline-pumping experience it was! This sequel to the blockbuster #Dhurandhar delivers on a massive scale anraw action, gripping espionage, and a story that honors the unsung heroes of our nation. Unlimited salutes to all the unknown warriors, gunmen, and intelligence operatives who risk everything for Bharat's security! 🇮🇳
1. First and foremost, infinite salutes to our legendary NSA #AjitDoval Sir, the real architect behind so many silent victories. His relentless dedication over decades has built an unparalleled network of assets across the globe. Films like this remind us of the real-life masterminds (unknown warriors)who operate in shadows to keep us safe.
2. A massive shoutout to @AdityaDharFilms what a visionary! You wrote, directed, and poured your soul into both #Dhurandhar and DhurandharTheRevenge. The craftsmanship is evident in every frame, tight scripting, high-stakes drama, and a bold narrative that blends patriotism with brutal realism. This duology stands out as one of the most ambitious spy-action sagas in recent Bollywood.
3. @RanveerOfficial kicks off the film with explosive energy and his performance as Jaskirat Singh Rangi / Hamza Ali Mazari is raw, intense, and commanding. The action sequences, cinematography, and visuals are top-notch from the start. It begins a bit measured, but builds steadily toward the interval, setting up an unforgettable second half.
4. Post-interval? Pure fireworks! The film unfolds in 6-7 gripping chapters, each more riveting than the last. @ActorMadhavan #RMadhavan delivers a career-best performance and nuanced, powerful, and chilling. @duttsanjay and @bolbedibol (assuming the reference to his role) are solid as ever,bringing gravitas to their parts. At the end sequence involving Jameel Jamali poisoning Dawood adds memorable layer.
5. Of course, the entire theatre felt the absence of Akshaye Khanna's towering presence as Rehman Dakait. His swag, aura, and banger performance in the first film was legendary and people flocked back to theatres repeatedly just for his scenes, and the songs became massive hits. In this sequel, the flashback references to Rehman Dakait's enmity with Bade Sahab (Dawood) over land deals, the kidnapping and brutal killing of Nura feel narrated rather than shown. Suggestion to the team of 10-15 minutes of actual flashback visuals with Akshaye Khanna reprising the role would have elevated the emotional weight and sustained the hype even more.
6. A few scenes in the second half could have been trimmed for tighter impact,like the extended Balochistan community tent sequence where Hamza (now the Lyari King / Baloch Ka Sher) visits with background music and dance. It felt a bit drawn out and hard to match the aura Akshaye brought to the "Baloch Ka Sher" title earlier. Similarly, the moment of Rehman Dakait's wife slapping Hamza during the funeral felt unnecessary and diluted some intensity.
7. That said, the post-interval action is near-reality brutal and visceral, unflinching, and mind-blowing. The violence is so close to real that it disturbed even our family members who enjoy action-packed films; some felt drowsy or overwhelmed by the raw intensity. It truly tests your endurance and hits hard.
8. The background score is magnificent and those thundering tracks amplify every chapter and deserve to be experienced only on the big screen with theatre sound. The film is a technical marvel that benefits hugely from multiple viewings to catch all the peak details, layered storytelling and subtle nods.
9. A small nitpick of last 5 minutes with #RanveerSingh visiting his native village (Pathankot vibes) with a good song felt a touch extended &could have ended on a sharper, more poignant note.
#Dhurandhar2 is a solid 4.5/5 & a worthy,explosive sequel that lives up to the colossal hype. It's massy yet meaningful,patriotic without preaching and a tribute to our real heroes.👇
