Did the Orthodox Church accept the Council of Florence, thereby uniting with the Roman catholic church?
To answer such a question, we need to understand what it means for "The Orthodox Church" to "accept" anything at all.
Is the Council of Florence consistent with prior Ecumenical Councils? How do we know what dogma or truth is?

How many of you know the tragic story of Saint Gabriel of Poland?
The holy youth Gabriel was born in Zabłudów to pious peasant parents, Peter and Anastasia Govdel, who named him after the Archangel.
He was unlike normal children in that he was more inclined to prayer and solitude than common amusements.

☦️ Thread: Was Christ Born on Christmas?
Evidence from the Bible for why Christians celebrate the birth of Christ on December 25th, and disputing claims of connection to paganism 👇
Nowhere in the Bible does it say "Christ was born on [Dec 25]," however the Bible does describe the timing of Christ's birth. We can calculate this from context clues given in the Bible.

Modern Judaism has NOTHING to do with Temple Judaism and it bears no continuity with the faith practiced by the Prophets. The faith of the Prophets is Christianity.
Modern Judaism starts after the destruction of the Temple AD 70, and the diaspora. Without the Temple, there is no Kohen Gadol (High Priest), sacrifices cannot be made, the ecclesial lunar calendar cannot progress, and the faith in its original format cannot continue.

Orthodox Saints who were from among the Laity and were not Monks, Martyrs, or Royalty.
Often, we can feel as though holiness is impossible or that salvation is beyond us because all our Saints are martyrs or monks or something we don't think we could be.
These saints show that holiness is for all people, and no one is excluded from the grace of God.

How the Protestant Reformation led to the Holocaust
When Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses in 1517, it would set off a chain reaction. Rome's slow reaction to his actions would allow Luther to spread his ideas far and wide, and any action they did take only hardened him in his views.

Jerusalem is the Mother Church
Within the Orthodox Church, there of course is a particular order of the local jurisdictions, which is enumerated in the Diptychs. However, the place of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem as the origin and rightful Mother of all Churches is solidified by history.

Before the filioque was condemned as a heresy, it was condemned as an interpolation, an uncanonical insertion into the Creed.

☦️ Thread: Are Dragons Real?
The Orthodox Church has, over these two millennia, produced an uncountable number of Saints.
Many of these Saints, spread far and wide all over the world, tend to agree and regularly interact with Dragons, as if to suggest they were real.
Although, not every instance of Dragons appearing in the Lives of the Saints is a living creature. Many times, Dragons are forms taken on by demons or a metaphor. Those stories in particular will NOT be included in this thread. We will only show examples of living Dragons.

This will be an attempt to EXPLAIN this doctrine, because its opponents often try to strawman it into something that sounds utterly absurd and easily dismissable to those who have not researched the issue in depth.

Saint Isaac the Syrian did not belong to the Nestorian "Church of the East." Our Isaac was born near Edessa. Their Isaac was born in Qatar. our Isaac was born in the early 500s. Their Isaac was born in 613. Our Isaac was Bishop for one day; theirs for 5 months.
The "Part II" of Isaac the Syrian did not belong to our Saint Isaac the Syrian, but to the Nestorian one born in 613. He is appropriately called "Pseudo Isaac." In these texts, which our Saints never read, the heretics are praised and universal salvation is taught in them.

This is the Faith of the Apostles. This is the Faith of the Fathers. This is the Faith of the Orthodox. This is the Faith that hath established the universe.
"What else, therefore, do you mean by 'anathema' than: let this man be consigned to the Devil, let him no longer have any possibility of salvation, and let him be estranged from Christ?"
Saint John Chrysostom

A thread detailing numerous historical accounts of the miracle of the Holy Fire, the unique irreplicable traits of the Holy Fire, and the Holy Fire proving the truth of the Orthodox Faith.
A little background:
The Holy Fire miracle has been an annually occurring miracle on Holy Saturday before Pascha (Easter) at the original tomb of Jesus Christ in Jesus Christ. It is a Fire of Divine Origin that flows from the tomb itself, and does not burn hair or skin.

Orthodox Marian Apparitions
Throughout the history of Christianity, the Saints have appeared to the faithful in many ways, both obvious and not. Below I shall include examples of the Mother of God appearing to Christians all over the world.
Much of this thread is being taken almost verbatim from @/percy_gryce. This thread will remain a good reference for Orthodox Christians and will provide more examples from before and after the schism of the latins.

Who are the Dog-Headed or "Cynocephali?"
What is their relationship to Christ and Christianity? Are they real? Are they literally dog-headed or is that a metaphor? What happens to a Cynocephali that converts?
In the first place, we must understand dogs and men before understanding dog-headed men. The Scriptures speak of dogs in a deragatory manner. The are flesh eaters in 2 Kings 9. Even Christ in Matthew 15 challenges the faith of the Caananite woman by equating her to a dog.

"The devil is the father of the cigarette."
Saint John of Kronstadt
So says Saint John of Kronstadt,
Smoking opens the gates of a person to unclean spirits. The world mocks God's incense with its own greedy incense: tobacco. It pushes people away from the Church. Smoking cigars is a stupid decision
