👉 Reserves of stored food to get you to other side.
👉Some cash at home. How much depends on needs. Enough for groceries? Gas to evacuate?
👉 Keep balances under "insured" limits, but don't count on the "insurance".
👉 Check your bank's credit rating at veribanc. Won't prevent trouble if whole system goes insolvent, but will reduce risk of being early casualty.
👉 Money market accounts invested in unsecured commercial paper; not FDIC-"insured". Beware. Slightly higher interest not worth it.

I was just about to fact-check this myself when I kept reading & noticed that "Readers" beat me to it. Glad somebody was awake.

👉 Inflation is a form of default. It's happening right now.
👉 Several core so-called "entitlements" are grossly under-funded & expected to default. Gov't openly admits it.
