My heart is full today—full of gratitude for the trust you have placed in me, full of love for our country, and full of resolve. The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, not what we fought for, but hear me when I say: the light of America's promise will always burn bright.

Throughout this campaign, I have seen the best of America. I have also seen what is holding you back and weighing you down: High costs, fundamental freedoms taken away, and politics driven by fear and division.

You deserve better. Kamala Harris waving to a crowd at a rally with "FREEDOM" sign in the background. As president, I will bring a new generation of leadership.

I will take on price gouging and bring down the cost of groceries, housing, and prescription drugs. I will fight for your freedom to make your own choices, and I will protect your health care and Social Security benefits. Vice President Kamala Harris shaking hands with an attendee at a campaign event, with people holding signs that say "Harris-Walz" and "Workers" in the background.

Donald Trump is flat-out lying about the relief available to Americans who are suffering in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

It is wrong, it is dangerous, and it is preventing people from getting the help that they desperately need. Let me be clear: Disaster funds are being used to help Americans in need.

FEMA is reimbursing 100% of the local and state government costs. They are providing an immediate payment of $750 to folks with urgent needs, such as food, water, baby formula, medication, and other emergency supplies. Those affected may also receive additional assistance to repair their homes and find a temporary place to stay.

Donald Trump is one of the biggest losers of manufacturing in American history.

He makes empty promise after empty promise to American workers, but never delivers. As president, he cut taxes for corporations, encouraged outsourcing, and lost nearly 200,000 manufacturing jobs—including auto jobs.

He has joked about firing workers, supported state anti-union laws, and suggested companies move jobs out of Michigan.

A young mother from Georgia should be alive today, raising her son and pursuing her dream of attending nursing school.

This is exactly what we feared when Roe v. Wade was struck down. In more than 20 states, Trump Abortion Bans prevent doctors from providing basic medical care. Women are bleeding out in parking lots, turned away from emergency rooms, losing their ability to ever have children again.

Survivors of rape and incest are being told they cannot make decisions about what happens next to their bodies.

And now women are dying. These are the consequences of Donald Trump’s actions.

During difficult times I have always turned to cooking. This year, I wanted to share one of my family’s favorite Thanksgiving recipes with you. I hope whenever you’re able to make it in life, it brings you as much warmth as it has brought me—even when separated from those I love. Ingredients: 2 8oz packages of cornbread mix
1 pound spicy pork sausage
2 onions, chopped
2 apples, cored and chopped
4 celery stalks, diced
¾ cup of chicken broth
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

This campaign is a fight for the soul of our country. It’s a fight of and for the people. Together, we will fight for a country with strong public schools. A country where one job is enough to pay the bills. A country with health care for every single American. We will fight for a country where getting a college education doesn’t mean taking on a lifetime of debt. Where middle-class and working families get a break, not corporations or the wealthiest 1%.

The end of the year is always a time for reflection, and this year I wanted to take a look back at some of the highs and lows of 2018. Thread below: There’s no question the Supreme Court fight was a tough one. But Dr. Ford’s strength and courage to come forward was so important. Her voice mattered and your voices matter. We won’t let survivors be silenced.

Reason #1: to create a better and brighter future for the next generation. Reason #2 why you should vote: to elect leaders who will work to protect our children from gun violence in schools.

An undocumented immigrant is not a criminal. We are not a society that is going to stand for tearing families apart. We are not going to buy into this administration’s fear mongering.
