#Thangalan, a brief History of South India
Magical Realism, Mythical, Fiction, Fantasy, Visual Treat, Wonderful Vikram, Amazing Parvathi, Spellbinding, and after all Pariah movie
That’s all what Savarna reviewers tell
They don't tell you about history & research in the film
🧵
Film about Pariahs and more
Yes, it also a film about Buddhism, Brahmins, Administrative Class: Brahmins, Naidus, Menons etc; feudal castes: Nairs, Nambiars, Menon, Reddys, Naidus, Rajus, Thevars, Vokkaligas
Savarna reviewers ignore others and call it a movie about Pariah

Brief history of Pulayas
And Casteist Communists, too
Pulaya is Kerala’s farmers. Pulaya includes, Cherumas, Pariahs, Holeya, Kanakkas, Kuravas, Pallas, Kootan, Velan, Vannan, Vettuva, Vallons etc.
TDLR: Communists cheated Pulayas, the farmers, and made Kerala food-insecure
🧵
Caste formation, lost opportunity
Just as Naga-Sudras merged to form Nair caste, and erstwhile Buddhist sect merged into Ezhava caste, Keralas farmers, too, should have formed as a caste
Alas, they didn’t, stripping their strength
Kerala’s Dalits still suffer from that gap.

Bramayugam: Project-Brahminism
@rahul_madking's Bramayugam is the latest release from Project-Brahminism
A project Brahmins initiated 1200 years ago
Project-Brahminism, it dates back to Parasu Mama and Shankara days
See who is "protecting" Kerala history?
A long 🧵
Project-Brahminism
It’s purpose is demonizing Buddhists & Jains, their gods, and their way of life
It's more dangerous than The Kerala story
With poor quality and direct story telling, Kerala story is has limited shelf life
It's poor attempt of political-Brahminism

Sankara Smriti: Sankaran Series – 3
A sneak peak into how symmetrically brahmins stole from poor's plate & filled his coffers
TLDR:
Duty of the king: As the Servant of Brahmin, redirect the societies’ produces to Brahmin and feed & multiply Cow, Brahmins’ source pf protein
Duty # 1: Protect Brahmin & Cows
“Protect caste Dharma; Build the capital suitable for cows’ grazing
Give 75% houses to Brahmins, the rest 25% of Vaishyas & Sydras
Spend much money to a fort with strong walls, moat & other barriers, and deploy soldiers”

Sankaran Series – 2:
Misogynist Sankaran's rules to discriminate menstruating women
1905 translation of Sankara Smrithi (CE 700) by TC Paramesvaran Moosadu
"The moment it starts, she should quarantine herself. Don’t touch anything, not even the house (wall door), except tumbler and breastfed toddler.
No brushing, no bath, not eye liners (if done, children will be blind)"

Eastern hills of Arithappatti, Madurai, has an Ashoka-era Buddhist cave temple site changed hands to Jains and later Shaivites
The locals still call the place as "Putharidom", place of Putha (Buddha)
In Mulayam unfortunately
By @ajaysekher
A hill at Puthussery had many of the archeological things @ajaysekher mentioned - broken clay bricks, tiles, earthen pots, pond & step-well cut into laterite, stone pedestal etc
Connecting the dots, the place may have been another Buddhist site

20th Century Fox

Who is the most casteist & misogynist person ever to live in Kerala?
It's Sankaran!
Which one - 20th century or 9th century?
It's tight competition b/w the two
Now about EM Sankaran Namboothirippad aka EMS
🧵
Casteist EMS Naboothirippad,
Casteist C Ahutha Menon (another 🧵),
and brave Ezhava Gouri
Circa 1957
The casteist Brahmin and Casteist Menon (Uber Nair) went on to become CMs
But Ezhava woman didn’t because the Brahmin and Nairs ensured she wouldn’t become one
"Among the total cabinet-rank posts, representation of Nair community is 37.5% while the population of Nairs in Kerala is estimated to be around 12.5%."
3X representation, that is Nair power
V Muralidharan Nair is the only KL guy in Modi ministry
After Vernacular medium schooling, moving to English only professional college is NOT easy for DBA kids - no matter their rank & marks
They are competing with folks who practice English from Age 0
Mari Selvaraj detailed in "Pariyerum Perumal"
In the Govt. Engg. College, where I studied, had 40 students in the class
30 from CBSE/ICSE
10 state syllabus in the only 4 (10%) Malayalam medium
The lecturers in Engineering Colleges were "Aaya-Raam Gaya-Raam", with IT companies paying good

Sprinkle human excrement on food!
Kerala Savarnas' food fascism
What my father told about his childhood starvation
In the months of June-July, with the onset of monsoon, the poor would run out all kinds of food
Brahminical Food Fascism in Kerala, once a Full-Blown Brahminical land.
The Kings & Brahmins had all the pleasures. Ambalavasis & Nair Savarnas came next.
Avarnas had only one role – produce for the Savarna’s.
Just like animals. No access to food they produce.
A 🧵
Ibex’s struggle for salt & minerals:
Salt & minerals are essential for an animal’s survival.
Here we see an ibex risks its life by climbing a near vertical dam to lick the salt.
Salt is essential & tasty what if it is denied to humans?

Did Europeans bring caste and slavery to India?
Savarna "computer warriors" claim so. As usual, they make the claim without any support. Burden of proof is on others.
Here we look at the copper plate inscriptions from Chera (800s-1300s AD) & Post-Chera periods of Kerala.
🧵
European documentation (1)
European had better documentation practices. And they documented what they observed. They had their way of looking the things.
We can analyze and argue against with evidence.
But that does not mean we say Europeans brought caste and slavery.

India's Savarna historians find no evidence of slavery in India. Thankfully, the Europeans, while participating in it, documented it in detail.
Malabar District Magistrate Court, on 30th Dec, 1811

Qn: What's your native place, caste, and age?
An: Kuttanadu [Alleppey, Travancore], caste pulaya, name Anima, age 16
Qn: When were you brought here [Ancharakkandy, Malabar]? Who was your owner (lord)?
An: [I] came 7-8 months ago. Mathu Tharakan was the owner.

Christian Missionaries brought the social changes in Kerala.
- "Native Life In Travancore"
Samual Mateer, 1883
The hierarchical list of caste that Brahmins & Kings of Travancore maintained! Apparently, their job description was to maintain the caste order, but never to care about the prosperity of the subjects!
It took foreigners to educate the people.
Bunch of horrible folks!

Ignorant Mallus romanticize Matrilineal Nair families and claim it as Women in Nair families were empowered. And some ignorant outsiders pick-up and broadcasts it further.
The claim is an absolute bullshit.
A thread.
What was Nair family system?
The patriarch lived with his sisters and her kids. Once the kids grow, the nieces’ kids join the family. All the while his own kids grow under the guidance of another man in another house hold(s), where he may visit as long as he is permitted.

People call Gujarat as Hindutva lab.
More precise: Gujarat is Gandhian Sanatana lab.
The fascist setup that Congress built to benefit the UCs, and cancel and oppress the rest the diverse Gujarati community. Now, RSS at the helm, the ideology is swallowing the country.
A 🧵
There is no difference between Hindutva (aka Hinduism) and Sanatana.
As visitor to Rajkot in 1999 and living there for one month, I came across many strange things. Those oppressive policies of Gujarat were in place as the birth place of MK Gandhi, before BJP came into power.

The history of India is a history of mortal conflict between Buddhism and Brahmanism.
Dr. Br Ambedkar
The thread is to show how the leadership of South Asia, if there was one, failed miserably. Therefore, no need of blaming the invaders – the hobby of UCs . 🧵
There must be some reason for Buddhism to fail in India. The thread is not to blame Brahminism for Buddhism’s failure. Dishonest, stupid, Brahmin A$$#OLE$ blame invaders for the under performance of the country.

A story my mother told.
Kadavallur [yes, the fuc%^&ng anonyam temple place], South Malabar, circa early 1950s.
My grandfather, grandmother and their kids – all almost 10 kids then. My mother and her elder sister reached puberty.
The filthy rich Menon Tharavad wanted girls to sweep the yard in the morning. Well, by 1950s Sudra Nairs and Ezhavas were less enthusiastic of slavery. Now, Dalits get promoted for sweeping the yard – the sweeping inside is still reserved for LC Nairs.
