Tamthil becomes clear disbelief when a person means that Allah’s attributes share the same haqiqah (ontological reality), kunh (quintessential nature),
kayfiyyah (modality), or mahiyyah (quiddity) as the attributes of created beings. Likewise, it is disbelief to claim that Allah’s dhat (essence) or sifat fall under a shared genus and differentia with created things, or to ascribe the specific properties of creation to Allah.
This issue requures separating two issues that are often merged together, especially by later fuqaha and detractors:
The legitimacy of visiting the grave of the Prophet ﷺ, and the separate question of travelling specifically to the grave as an independent destination of qurbah.
