5 years ago, @DickGottfried & @DianeSavino fought for a medical marijuana program & we stood with their effort to bring medical marijuana to NY. However, in the final hours, what resulted was one of the most restrictive programs in the US. AND it was structurally inequitable. Groups like @Housingworks & @VOCAL-NY fought side by side with cancer patients & kids with epilepsy to get medical marijuana for New Yorkers. But the program--as enacted--has benefitted them the least.
