A thread on leading through growth and change using the "Ask. Answer. Act." muscle (w/ 3 tools in the thread you can use now)

I made big mistakes early in my career while constantly leading new teams in different countries & cultures, w/ limited time windows and learned a ton... Situations like that force you to learn how to build trust, prioritize, and communicate (the 3 skills needed for any leader, but especially leaders in new circumstances driven by high growth).

Ask. Answer. Act. is the template for this no matter the situation.

If you hear yourself say, "that goes without saying", ask people in different levels & areas of the company to validate that. For a principle or behavior to "go without saying" throughout the entire org, a culture must be VERY strong, and it may not be as strong as you think. I love the saying “to permit is to promote”. I’ve also learned, “to promote is to cement that person’s behavior as the gold standard”. Who you show love to (reward and elevate) in your company tells the rest of the company, “this is what it takes to win”. Proceed accordingly.
