fellow worldbuilders/clothing geeks how are we feeling about the difference between fem (left) & masc (right) fashion in Chukmoch style! (for ref, the more broad Kardek style actually tends to favor multiple banners for fem, two banners for masc, and one for neutral (also for reference, feminine in Kardek is more akin to masculine here [woefully abridged summary] and vice versa for Kardek masculinity [ALSO woefully abridged.])

ALRIGHT SO. this has been cookin' in my noggin for a while so can i just say that i LOVE the difference in the silhoutte style goals between these two fashions? (the left is a traditional Kardek Chukmoch kamledatigik, and the right is a, roundabouts 1900, lingerie dress 1/? (can you tell i've been watching too much bernadette banner lately lol?)

basically the goal of the edwardian dress is to cinch in the waist and puff out the chest, to give it a "pigeon-breasted" look. the dress has a little belly pouch bc of all the gathering in the front!

finally drew one of my OCs that i've had in my head for a while! basically in my worldbuilding there are some Kardekmak who came to earth & she ended up in england w/ 2 friends, in like victorian thru the present era. She met a man in the edwardian era named josiah & married him! i based her headwrap off of tichels! i'm going to add some more details to the wrap-skirt and shoulder drape bc the skirt should actually have this elaborate golden brooch thing holding it togther but i forgot to add it before screenshotting and posting lol

i love this thread! for me worldbuilding involves creating the minutiae & building upwards to the things that might show up in the story so that my framework is internally consistent, but the minutiae is more or less for my own amusement as well -- it's not supposed to show up!

i create languages, which means i have to create the culture behind that language. the culture behind it is the difference between having fifty separate terms for things to do with one kind of draft animal versus never having domesticated that animal. that affects vocab.

i've mentioned this before but one of the hardest things about adhd is how it can WRECK your relationships because you don't have friendship degradation mechanics like everyone else like my friendship degradation mechanics are just straight up broken, i can go YEARS without hearing from someone at all and still feeling exactly the same level of familiarity about them. but they don't because friendship degrades if you don't take care of it

hey psst. hey you. the marshmallow test did not actually test in any meaningful way for kids' actual baseline impulse control levels and instead they found that kids from food insecure backgrounds failed the test at far higher rates than food-secure kids. just a little fact i just saw a tweet that mentioned the marshmallow test and my autism was like "hold on while i uhhhhhh infodump"

wish ppl realized "gifted kid burnout" isnt "wah ppl arent saying im smart anymore" its "ive had my entire sense of self-worth propped up on being nebulously Intelligent & now that i have to apply real-world skills nobody bothered to teach me, ive realized it's easier to not try" it's not "people told me i'm smart and now i'm mad i'm not being fawned over anymore" it's "adults treated me like a parlor trick because i could memorize dinosaur names and didn't bother to teach me any useful adult skills so now i just lower the bar to keep people disappointed"
