Everything wrong with inauthentic environmental messaging in three quotes.

1. Struggling to stay on the awkward ecosystem services message, #IPBES chairman dismisses pending extinction of a million species as a side issue to human wellbeing. I don't believe for a second that Watson actually thinks this. This disaster of a quote is the result of trying to "message" the mass extinction crisis via an ill-fitting, consultant-designed ecosystem services framework instead of authentically speaking from actual lived values.

Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds @rareseeds is hosting Clive Bundy, the racist, violent, militia, anti-government, anti-public lands, anti-environmental activist to speak at its gathering of 10,000 gardners in May.

Disgusting. Everyone should boycott Baker Creek immediately.

RETWEET Here's one of Clive's public racist rants filmed by the New York Times. Does @rareseeds agree with him?

(thread) We don't know when humans learned to cure olives, and Lawrence Durrell was likely wrong to call them "a taste older than meat, older than wine...as old as cold water," but we do know Athena beat Poseidon in a contest to give humans the greatest gift by offering them an olive tree
