Citgo the huge American oil refinery chain technically belongs to Venezuela's state-owned company. But years back, Venezuela owed billions to US creditors after defaulting on loans. Those folks sued, won, and a judge said, hey, sell Citgo's parent company to pay them off. Fast forward: Elliott Management, run by billionaire Paul Singer, steps in with their new arm Amber Energy and wins the bid for $5.9B. Now Singer doesn't just own shares, he basically controls the whole damn thing.
Not only that but he has a US nonprofit that aims to build "a new generation of Zionist"
