It was in 1900s when British government made Hausa man; Sherrif Abuh the Onu Ankpa, Another Hausa man; Umar Meliga the Onu (now Ejeh) Dekina, and Mamman Lafia the Onu Ojoku. And these Onu had to dress like Emirs And as usual to show loyalty, many chiefs in their domain had to change their religion or had to dress like Emirs. Many Igalas were deprived of their rights by the Hausa Onus, Almost all Igala traditional festivals died.
