I've been wanting to write this thread for some time now, and this is directed to people who ask for donations via social media, whether it's for NGOs or self-initiated projects for the underprivileged and those in need.

DON'T ONLY THANK THE RICH AND THE TITLED. I see you sometimes, befriending senior citizens like my mum. The generation that has the most amount of time to go on Facebook, connecting, and frequently, affected by stories of tragedy and adversity.

And they feel they must do good with whatever time is left on this Earth.

Over a year ago I tweeted about the unchecked and sanctioned sexual harassment in the media and broadcasting industry of Malaysia.

Retweeting some of them in a thread now.

Because one year later, an email alleges it is happening even in what some think as a “woke” place. There is an absolute MCP of a board member in a media company that I know who said
in meetings that all female personalities must be interviewed personally by him before hired.

He also jokes that to get bigger numbers at events they should wear bikinis.
