Today marks Trans Day of Remembrance, a solemn occasion for our #LGBTQ+ communities and allies to reflect, remember, and honour our remarkable trans and non-binary siblings, whose lives were tragically cut short.
🧵#TransDayofRemembrance #TDOR
Today gains particular significance as we acknowledge the heartbreaking 392 trans and non-binary individuals globally reported to no longer be with us since the 1st of October 2022, as recorded by Remembering Our Dead (@TDoRinfo).
As we honour and celebrate the rich legacy, accomplishments and contributions of our Black communities this month, it's essential to acknowledge the intersectionality of our Black and #LGBTQ+ communities. #BHM #BHM2023
Black LGBTQ+ individuals have played a significant role in shaping history, making invaluable contributions in various fields.
Let's recognise and uplift their stories, resilience, and achievements as an integral part of the broader Black experience.

Once again, there seems to be lots of confusion about the Gender Recognition Act, the Equality Act and so-called “Self ID”. It’s time for another Lib Dem primer. Best put the kettle on and settle in.
Here we go.
The government has, for some months now, said it wants to consult on updating the Gender Recognition Act (GRA). Our last primer explained what this did.
Tl;dr: It was introduced to allow trans people to get married in their identified gender.

People have approached us and told us they’re confused by this Gender Recognition Act stuff. “What’s all this about self ID?”, they ask us. “We are so confused!”, they say.
With all the misinformation about, who can blame them? So settle in for tve Lib Dem guide to the GRA.
Until the 1970s, when people transitioned they generally wrote off to various places: the passport office, the DVLA, the nice tax people (look, I paid you OK? Please don’t hurt me!) and the register office.
