On this Memorial Day, we honor fallen US soldiers, and mourn their losses. Many of them were our relatives, friends, and colleagues, and we miss them dearly.

Politicians and the corporate press will tell you they all died for your freedom, but the sad fact is that isn't so. 🧵 More often than not, the ruling class in Washington exploited their genuine patriotism for its own wicked purposes, and waged wars for the sake of empire instead of protection.

Arrest Trump, but charge him with war crimes instead of victimless crimes.

And nab all the other living presidents, including Biden, for the same. Trump put boots on the ground in Syria without constitutional license, expanded the genocide in Yemen, ramped up bombing in Afghanistan in 2018 and 2019, levelled the city of Mosul in Iraq, backed a successful coup in Bolivia, and staged several failed ones in Venezuela.

Today in 1993, ATF agents converged on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas. As they attempted to serve an arrest warrant, a gunfight erupted, and an attempt to enforce federal firearm restrictions resulted in ten deaths. After the needless bloodshed, the state initiated a siege that lasted 51 days. As both parties negotiated terms to vacate the property, the FBI conducted psychological operations against those inside - a group which included over two dozen children.

Many across the country deal with food insecurity. While disasters like the train derailment in East Palestine aren’t needed to create these issues, they certainly exasperate them. The solution is food freedom. Government regulation of food hinders entrepreneurship, stifles the free market, and contributes to food waste and food scarcity. We recognize that the freedom to choose what we eat is essential to our well-being and survival.

Even more seriously, in 2002 the 9/11 Commission concluded that numerous failures inside the CIA & FBI actually allowed the September 11th attacks to happen...

You have to drive an electric car while they fly private jets.

You have to send your kids to public school while theirs attend private school.

You have to fight and fund their wars while they profit off those wars.

You have to pay taxes while they get rich off your taxes. You have to stay at home and wear a mask while they attend baseball games and dine at expensive restaurants unmasked.

You have to live with a broken immigration system while they send the National Guard to kick migrants out of Martha's Vineyard.

In January 2016 Daniel Shaver was in Mesa, Arizona for work. His pest control job required a pellet gun. A hotel patron, thinking he had a rifle, called the police.

Mesa police arrived at the hotel and called Shaver into the hotel hallway. Shaver was not armed. (1/5) The officers on the scene yelled conflicting orders at Shaver and made NO attempt to deescalate the situation. Shaver, clearly terrified, said “please don’t shoot me” right before police shot and killed him.

Once again, he was unarmed.

In a period of 24 hours, the President has signed an Executive Order dramatically altering how free speech is interpreted on social media platforms, and called for the violent intervention of the National Guard in riots. Meanwhile, members of the press have been arrested live. To describe the events of the past day as disturbing would be an understatement. They're shocking.

Actions of the state have wide-reaching and long-lasting ramifications. They set new precedents for our country moving forward.

The United States relies too heavily on our military might in foreign policy. For more than a decade, our country has been waging active wars in the Middle East. This has left our military tired, with several thousand dead, and many more thousands wounded physically and mentally.

Libertarians believe that if someone is peaceful, they should be welcome to immigrate to the United States. Libertarians believe that people should be able to travel freely as long as they are peaceful. We welcome immigrants who come seeking a better life. The vast majority of immigrants are very peaceful and highly productive.
