Today we have written to @Christian4BuryS regarding his recent tweet on Gene Simmonds’ visit to the House of Commons.

Simmonds has been associated with extremely Islamophobic past comments - including referring to Islam as a “vile culture”.

Promotion of Mr Simmonds is… twitter.com/i/web/status/1… Image We have called on @Christian4BuryS to immediately remove his tweet and apologise to Muslims in the Labour Party and beyond.

Actions like this severely undermine the efforts to tackle Islamophobia within the Party and in British society as a whole.

🚨 The Forde Report and Islamophobia

Following the publication of the Forde Report today and the serious issues it raises relating to Islamophobia and racism, the Labour Muslim Network have put together the main reflections and conclusions.
