Every time a dinosaur skeleton goes up for auction, news sources lead in with “If you’ve ever wanted to own a dinosaur skeleton, here’s your chance” like this isn’t a regular occurrence and huge problem in paleontology. Looking at you, @MorningEdition.
We’ve been having this conversation for years. Every time a shiny dinosaur skeleton goes up for auction, paleontologists repeat that such private sales hurt science and fuel a black market trade. But nothing changes. How many times is it going to take before the message sinks in?

The Guardian is such a hypocritical paper. They'll celebrate the "science" of a transphobic rule while forgetting they've run stories on how anyone other than cisgender men are underrepresented in medical studies and clinical trials.
It's still a form of misgendering, asserting what biology dictates based on sex assigned at birth, "male puberty", or whatever goalpost they've moved to this week. They act as if Science Has Spoken on the matter, a symptom of "science is real" debate tactics.
