The pain I see in my Palestinian friends is something I recognize. Almost everyone has family killed/wounded/displaced. They're watching their ancient society, its places, its storytellers, its memory, be annihilated. I recognize it as the pain we Jews feel looking at the Shoah. This is not to say "Jews can only understand Palestinian grief filtered thru our own grief," but that the assault on Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank & Jerusalem is a genocide & that Zionists are literally doing to them what was once done to us & used to justify that ideology.
