The central role the UK Supreme Court has played in the Brexit process is an indictment of the entire political system - wealthy individuals have resorted to an institution which is, by design, democratically unaccountable to advance their opposition to the UK leaving the EU 1/9 While it is to be welcomed that Boris Johnson and his cabals attempts at extending untrammelled executive power have been frustrated, it is the opposition, in particular the Labour Party, that should be leading the way on this, not the courts 2/9
