A long 🧵

It seems a lot of us who are still C19 careful are feeling abandoned & alone. I know I feel that way. It’s an impossible task trying to keep my CEV DH safe while also affording our 7 yo some semblance of a childhood. It’s a circle that can’t be squared 1/x The pandemic has driven home how superficial & transactional most of our relationships were. Far too many ppl walk away as soon as a relationship requires an emotional investment, a show empathy or some effort. Their only objective was a fun, breezy transaction

Yesterday I took my 6 y/o to get her hair cut at a kids’ salon. We were masked & I booked the 1st apt of the day to minimise covid exposure. No one else was masked in salon & as soon as DD sat down the stylist told her she “could take her mask off if she wanted”. I was livid 1/4 But calmly said “No, her father has been battling lung cancer so the mask stays on”. The stylist right away offered to mask & sheepishly said she “always masks except for that day b/c she has lung problems & had taken her mask off to breathe more easily”. Not great logic… 2/4
