While everyone has an opinion and is congratulatory towards the Foreign Office and the Indian High Commission in Colombo, might one remind of 1967.

June 1967, Vijai Pillai and K Raghunath (later FS) were branded spies and expelled from Peking on trumped up charges

THREAD: Being repatriated from Peking, they were attacked by Red Guards at the airport & other diplomatic staff were assaulted.

India's response was brutal at the same.

Chen Lu-Chih, First Secretary in New Delhi was striped of his diplomatic immunity, and immediate deportation
