June 1967, Vijai Pillai and K Raghunath (later FS) were branded spies and expelled from Peking on trumped up charges

Being repatriated from Peking, they were attacked by Red Guards at the airport & other diplomatic staff were assaulted.
India's response was brutal at the same.
