The state of French-language tech news is, honestly, deplorable. I feel sorry for those who don’t have the luxury of being bilingual.

French people shouldn’t have to turn to English-language news just to get an actual overview of what’s going on.

Where’s the journalism?

In @cgiorgi’s Facebook group, the most common complaint is that there’s not enough “off the record” talk.

But plenty of people will go on the record to credible journalists who earn the respect of their audience.

We need more brand-name tech journalists.

(Thread) The discussion around US school shootings reminds me a lot of France's 2015-2017 fight against terrorism from ISIS. I thought a lot about this last month on the Charlie Hebdo 3-year anniversary, so let's jump in. In January 2015, terrorists used Slovakia-bought assault rifles to raid the the secret, unmarked Charlie Hebdo offices, killing 17 people, included a trained bodyguard armed with a loaded pistol.

A well-trained & armed defender was killed. Remember that.
