Useful stat mentioned: approx 35% percent of UK households are rented; 30% mortgaged-homeowners; 30% own homes outright.
In Britain, while the proportionate of house ownership *did* fall in 2010s – an effect of the gruelling financial crisis – the key stat of over 2/3 of British households being owned or partly owned is still *the* stat for Left to grapple with.

Pharmaceutical regulation is like sex. Being the quickest at it is not something to brag about.
In the 1960s, in the United States, an FDA drug examiner, Frances Kelsey, refused to approve Thalidomide despite facing huge pressure from higher-ups at the FDA. It had already been approved by regulators in the UK.
