Made a visit to Cologne/Köln, Germany. Here are my thoughts.

In short: if this is how a leading city plans for bicycles in the EU's largest economy, then we are in big trouble.

More in detail, below. First, the people of Köln seem to love bicycles. There are bicycles all over the city centre. Despite the car-oriented infra, they cycle. Even when the racks are placed too close to the 'lane', they use it. Respect!
