This is a selection, training, compliance, and performance management issue. Right now, the system is underperforming. Patients are paying the price, and Drs are underprepared & overworked, carrying gaps that result in fragmented, ineffective care. 2/

The mind can protect from trauma by using mechanisms such as repression, denial, & dissociation. This is helpful short-term to allow you to function until you're ready to process the trauma. Repression can allow you to avoid feelings of overwhelm or guilt association with them./2
